Made to fit under the seat
View AllIf you ever plan to travel within Europe with a budget, then Eurowings should be your first choice. Like many other airlines, Eurowings' baggage allowance includes regulations relating to cabin bags (that is underseat bags and carry-on) and checked luggage. In this article, you’ll get to know the detailed limits of each type of luggage and the excess fee applied for every ticket class. Read till the end to discover some tips to save money when packing, and whether or not your luggage should be treated as a special one before bringing it on board.
Overview
Eurowings is a German low-cost airline that mainly offers low-cost flights to popular tourist destinations, major cities within and outside Europe. Eurowings is certified as a 4-Star Low-Cost Airline for the quality of its airport, onboard product, and staff service. Like other airlines, Eurowings' baggage allowance is clearly regulated for different ticket classes (BASIC, SMART, BIZclass) as you can discover right below.
What Is The Hand Luggage Allowance With Eurowings?

All Eurowings fares allow at least one personal item.
In all classes, passengers can bring one small underseat bag (i.e., laptop bag, purse, small backpack, like a 28L backpack) with maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 25 cm (16 x 12 x 10 in) free of charge.
For the BASIC class, if you want to bring a large cabin bag, you only need to pay an additional €18 / £16 / $21.
A large cabin bag must have a maximum weight of 8 kg (17.8 lbs) and maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm (22 x 16 x 9 in).
The SMART class can bring one larger cabin bag in addition to the underseat bag. BIZ class, on the other hand, can carry up to two pieces of hand luggage along with a personal item.

If your bags don’t fit, and they catch you at the gate, Eurowings charges a penalty fee of around €50 (roughly £45). That’s sometimes more than the cost of the flight itself.
Thus, it makes sense to get it right from the get-go. Invest in an underseat bag that fits will save you hundreds, if not thousands, in bag fees (along with headaches along the way). Plus, for a quick dash across Europe, the backpack is just easier.
Spending £60ish on a bag like the CabinZero might feel like an investment, but you make that money back in two trips by not paying for priority boarding or checked luggage. After that? Every flight is money in your pocket for tapas and holiday pints.

Eurowings Policies on Sports Equipment And CPAP
Sports equipment
According to Eurowings' baggage allowance, passengers can bring sports equipment weighing up to 32kg (70lbs) and must pre-register to ensure there is enough cargo space.
Passengers are charged from €50 ($57) for the transport of sports equipment and sports weapons. If you are bringing skis and snowboards, you will be charged from €30 ($34).
If your sports equipment weighs more than 32kg (70lbs), you will need to purchase an additional suitcase weighing no more than 23kg (53lbs), or if one suitcase is not enough, you can book another item of sports baggage for an additional 32kg.
If you have a Eurowings credit card and its companions, and you have paid for your ticket with that card, you will not be charged for sports equipment.
-
For balls: Passengers can bring them on board as hand baggage, provided they are deflated.
-
For bicycles: Passengers must pack their bicycles in a dedicated transport case with padding and protective inner packaging material. All protruding parts, such as handlebars and pedals, must be aligned parallel to the frame. Wheels must be deflated. Electric bicycles are not allowed on planes.
-
For sports weapons: Passengers should contact Eurowings customer service for detailed instructions.
-
For bodyboards and surfboards or snowboards and skis: Bodyboards and surfboards must be wrapped in a protective bag. Ski or snowboard equipment must be carried in a maximum of 2 pieces of baggage per passenger (e.g., 1 ski bag and 1 ski boot bag).
CPAP
Passengers with medical conditions who need to carry a medical device on board will not be charged any additional fees. Eurowings baggage allowance allows CPAPs to be carried as regular hand baggage, but you need to ensure that they are battery-powered as power on board is not guaranteed, and carry a device description and a certificate of authenticity to pass through security.
To register, you need to complete the form for air passengers with special assistance requirements and send it to Eurowings 72 hours before your flight, and contact customer service to provide the device information, including:
