1% for the Planet

Travelling is our passion, and this passion goes far beyond creating travel gear – it fuels our commitment to the people we meet and the planet we wander. Today, we’re thrilled to announce a new chapter in our story: CabinZero has joined the 1% for the Planet initiative, committing 1% of our annual sales (not profits) to support environmental nonprofit organisations focused on the environment.

What is 1% for the Planet?

1% for the Planet is a global network that connects thousands of businesses and environmental partners to work towards a common goal: to ensure our planet and future generations thrive. So far, over 4,887 business members have supported more than 7,265 approved environmental partners.

The programme was created in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies. They believe businesses are responsible for their environmental impact and should make a difference by donating 1% of their sales to environmental impact organisations.

Since then, 1% for the Planet has raised over $728 million (and counting!) for environmental causes and supports global environmental partners through a combination of monetary, in-kind and approved promotional expenses.

Commitment To A Positive Impact

Joining 1% for the Planet is one way we’re turning our values into action you can trust. This 1% commitment applies to all our sales, year in and year out, rain or shine. And we’re proud to make it. By tying our giving to our sales, we ensure that as CabinZero grows, our contributions to the planet grow too.

And it’s not just feel-good giving. Every donation is verified and goes to certified nonprofit organisations that meet 1% for the Planet’s rigorous standards. That means our 1% doesn’t just look good on paper — it creates actual results on the ground.

Like any great journey, this is just the first step. We’ll be the first to admit we’re at the beginning of this journey, and there’s so much to learn. We’re excited to grow our impact over time.

Where Our 1% Goes

We focus our 1% giving on partners who do two things exceptionally well:

• They can show credible verification, transparent reporting, and real-world outcomes.

Plastic pollution shows up everywhere: shorelines, rivers, and the places travel is meant to help us appreciate. That’s why we partner with Seven Clean Seas, an ocean impact organisation headquartered in Singapore and operating plastic recovery projects in Southeast Asia.

Rewilding Europe: Bringing Wild Nature Back

Rewilding is about restoring ecosystems by bringing back missing natural processes and wildlife whilst working with local communities, so nature recovery supports local opportunity. We support Rewilding Europe’s work across three landscapes in Spain, France, and Italy.
