    Sports equipment & CPAP

Sports equipment & CPAP can both be carried as hand luggage or checked luggage. However, there are some specific rules you will have to follow for each equipment.

    Iberia Policy for Sports Equipment

For sports gear, the costs vary from €60 to €170 depending on the types of equipment and distance of the flight. You can pay this fee online or at the airport. The online fee will be around €25 - €30 cheaper. But there is equipment you can’t purchase online.

The detailed prices for each equipment and flight are listed on Iberia's official website. Light & compact equipment like golf, scuba diving, fishing rods, etc., are the cheapest, €35 for short flights and €100 for long flights. Bigger equipment like bicycles, surfing, kiteboard, and waveboard are €5-€20 more expensive. You can buy luggage for these categories online.

For bulky things like skates, scooters, bowling, parachutes, archery, etc., the price will be the most expensive. Short and medium flights will cost €150, while long flights will cost up to €300. The luggage for these types of equipment can only be purchased at the airport.

The price for shipping sports equipment on Iberia flights varies depending on the sizes and types of equipment.

Along with the extra price, you have to pay extra attention to how your sports equipment is packed. The permitted weight is 23kg. Exceed weights will be charged accordingly. Your luggage can only be up to 32kg, or else it won’t make it to the aeroplane.

Iberia has stated specifically the number of equipment each passenger is allowed to bring. Depending on the size of your sports equipment, you will need to make a reservation online, as the staff need to arrange its space. In some cases, there might be an extra fee to cover the carriage of your equipment to the aircraft.

We would recommend you contact their customer care centre for more information and come to the airport earlier to avoid any unexpected requirements.

    Iberia Policy for CPAP

CPAP machines are allowed on board along with other luggage without an extra fee. Iberia doesn’t have many requirements for health support equipment like this. However, the machine still needs to have a tag indicating that it was approved for use on air by the FAA. If not, an attached document must confirm this. Plus, it can’t be used with electrical sockets on the plane, so make sure to carry extra batteries or charges.

The booking and check-in process for Iberia Airlines can be done online or offline, just like any other airline.
