      Overview of Iberia Airlines

Iberia Airlines is Spain's national carrier and the country's largest airline, with headquarters in Madrid. On June 7, 1940, the Spanish airline was founded by law and granted the authority to carry persons and products by air inside the territory of Spain. Its main centre of operations is located at Adolfo Suárez Airport. Barcelona El Prat Airport serves as a supplementary hub to Madrid-Barajas. The airline serves roughly 15 domestic routes and over 60 foreign destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, North America, and South America.

In 2011, Iberia and British Airways combined to establish the new International Airlines Group. Each airline, however, continues to operate under its own identity.

Iberia offers a diverse choice of destinations from 141 locations in Europe, America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with 144 dedicated aircraft.

(With over 300 flights every week linking other airports with partner carriers.)

      Iberia Airlines Baggage Allowance Policy

Originally, Iberia's flying service was limited to flights inside Spain (including service to the resort of Majorca). However, beginning in 1946, Iberia established lines to London and Latin America, and eventually expanded the routes to include numerous destinations in Europe, Africa, and North and South America.

As a result, each departure point and destination has a distinct luggage policy; Iberian travellers should read the following page to learn more about baggage limitations and how to have the best holiday ever.

Iberia Airlines allows travellers to bring one piece of hand luggage as well as one personal item such as a wallet or briefcase on board. (Assistive gadgets and outerwear do not count toward the carry-on luggage allowance.)

Baggage must fit in the overhead bin or beneath the front seat. Hand baggage cannot exceed 10kg in weight or 115cm in length.

The following are Iberia Airlines' carry-on luggage size restrictions:

      Personal accessory: 15.7 x 11.8 x 5.9 inches (40 x 30 x 15 cm)

      Cabin bag: 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 inches (56 x 45 x 25 cm)

(Please be aware that passengers flying out of or arriving in London are permitted to bring one piece of checked luggage measuring 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 inches (56 x 45 x 25 cm) and one personal item up to 15.7 x 10.8 x 7.9 inches (40 x 26 x 20 cm) on board (with any class of flight).

The quantity of free checked luggage varies according to class and itinerary. All checked luggage has a maximum dimension of 158cm (total height + length + breadth) and a maximum weight of 23kg.

As previously stated, your checked luggage allowance is determined by a variety of criteria, including the ticket you booked and cabin class.

Checked luggage allowance for short-haul flights is as follows:

      - No luggage allowance in Express Economy Class (domestic flights).

      - Quick savings (international flights): 1 free piece

      - Save flights: 1 free piece

      - Business Class: two complementary pieces

      For domestic and international flights:

      - For the basic economy class, passengers will not have an allowance for the free checked luggage allowance, so passengers are only allowed to bring a cabin bag.; Premium Economy Class passengers are permitted to bring one item of hand luggage, and Business Class passengers are permitted to bring two pieces of hand luggage.

The allowance for long-haul flights to/from the United States is as follows:

      - Discount 1 piece of free luggage in Economy Class (international flights).

      - Full Economy & Business Class: 2 complimentary pieces

      - Business Plus: 3 complimentary items

For flights to/from Africa and the Middle East:

      - Economy class travellers can check one piece of luggage, while business class passengers can check two pieces of luggage.

      - All checked luggage goods are limited to a maximum standard weight of 23kg to 32kg, depending on ticket class; 3-dimensional dimensions must not exceed 158cm/piece.

Iberian airlines no longer give a hard and fast table to aid you in billing. You must enter particular information regarding your travel date, cabin class, fare booked, and baggage purchase time into their luggage calculator. Iberia's excess baggage charge policy is as follows in general:

More than 23 kilograms And the maximum weight is 32 kg. Excess weight will result in a €60 fee per component.

You must utilise the "Add another bag" option on the Iberia website to charge you additional costs for packages that exceed your free quota (if applicable).
